Its players' organization

The Players Association is a New York-based recording studio group. Chris Hills and Danny Weiss worked previously on The Grateful Dead's legendary fusion band. Their 1977 debut album for Vanguard Records was a classic. The band's sound was both raw yet sophisticated. Their songs were inspired by the complexity and beauty of everyday human life. Although their songs were highly influential, there was controversy over their style.

The Ultimate Breakaway Weekend was organized by the Players Association to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Olympic athletes, Lance Armstrong, and the United States Women's National Team all joined them at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, and musicians Sheryl Crow and Anthony LaPaglia joined the Players Association for an exhibition with area youth soccer players at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In support of the athletes, the Players Association also hosted a benefit concert for both the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (ASC) and the American Cancer Society.
