Swedish Golfer Anna Nordqvist

Anna Nordqvist is an international golf player and a Swedish national team member. She was named to both the All-Academic Second Team and the Pac-10 First Team. In 2008, she was also named to the PING/ASU Invitational. At the 2008 NCAA Championships she was tied for fifth. She was also the 2008 Ladies British Open Amateur Champion. Nordqvist was also a World Amateur Team Champion for her country and received low amateur honors in 2008. Nordqvist started playing golf when she was thirteen years old. She credits her national coaches Katarina Vangdal and Maria Bertilsk"ld with helping her to develop her game. She qualified for the Tour at her first attempt.

In 2008, Nordqvist finished fifth at the NCAA Championships. She was tied for 25th at the LPGA Qualifying Tournament the next year. In 2009, she made the decision to become a professional and won her first LPGA tournament. She won the Women's PGA Championship with two strokes and earned a spot in the Solheim Cup Team.

Equipment changes

Since her victory at the Evian Championship, Anna Nordqvist has been struggling this year. The Swedish player has been struggling with numerous equipment changes which have created a lot of problems. Although she has placed in the top 10, twice, she has not been permitted to compete at the majors. However, she stated that this week she had made some progress and felt like her game was finally returning.

Nordqvist, 33, is a Swedish professional golfer who won her third major championship four years ago. She was married to her caddie Kevin McAlpine and is now living in Scottsdale, Arizona. Golfweek magazine interviewed her recently to discuss the changes she made to her equipment, and her overall career.
