Fallon Fox is an American mixed martial artist who is openly gay. She is the first transgender fighter in the sport. Her transgender identity was made public when she announced her transition to female in 2011. Fallon is a strong advocate for gender equality.

Manuel

Manuel Fallon Fox was 26 years old when he decided that he wanted to become a professional boxer. When a girl approached him to sparring, he was already enrolled in Jeet Kune Do. Manuel agreed to meet her at a nearby boxing gym. Manuel and the girl were told to spar by an overzealous trainer. He also hit Manuel hard in the process.

Manuel has only fought three times professionally, and his first two bouts were amateur bouts. The rest of his professional career was full with injuries. Due to back-toback injuries, shifting bureaucratic priorities, and the pandemic, he's missed many fights. However, his promise to return is not yet fulfilled.

Fallon Fox has been the subject of a lot media attention due to her romance with a gay guy. Fox, a biological boy, struggled with gender identity since childhood. When she was in her early teens, she was convinced she was gay. She was unaware of transgender people at that time.


She started researching transgender issues which eventually led her to make the transition. She discovered about transsexuals. She finally lost her hair. She underwent several procedures that completed her transformation to a woman.

Her gender reassignment procedure

Fallon Fox was born to a man, but struggled with his gender identity as a teenager. In her teenage years, Fallon Fox thought she was homosexual, but later realized she was transgender. In the end, she chose to have gender reassignment. She traveled to Thailand for the surgery and underwent a series of surgeries.

Fallon Fox first learned of the term "transgender" as a teenager. She began questioning her identity at a young age and started to steal her mother’s clothes to dress up when no one was watching. Although her family didn't support her decision to have gender reassignment surgery performed, she served four years in the Navy as an operations specialist second-class. She attended a technical college after her marriage ended in 2007 and enrolled at University of Toledo.

Her MMA career

Fallon Fox retired from professional mixed martial arts in early 2018 following a loss to Amanda Nunes in UFC 215 and announced that she would not be competing in the sport any longer. She announced her intention to retire in February 2017. In February 2017, Fox announced her intention of retiring. She fought Raquel Pennington in July 2017. Since then, Fox has not participated in a fight.

Although her MMA career was short, it is notable to note that she has become a prominent advocate of transgender athletes. She was born a man and struggled with gender identity since childhood. She didn't know that there were transgender people all over the globe.
