She said in February that Moore would be taking a vacation to pursue her dreams of becoming a minister and to concentrate on her family. Moore has been working with Jonathan Irons to free him from prison for the crime he committed when he was 16.

Moore met Irons when she was visiting her godparents in Missouri. She also met Irons' great-uncle who introduced them all to the rest. Irons was 16 at the time, and was convicted on charges of burglary as well as shooting at the residence of a white gentleman. Stanley Stotler, the homeowner recognized Irons's identity as the perpetrator. The jury found him guilty and sentenced him for the crime to prison.

Irons' conviction was overturned by the judge after he mentioned problems with the case investigation. The couple has been engaged and plans to establish a foundation that will assist wrongfully sentenced individuals. Moore plans to return to basketball in the spring.
