Women in the sports media world often walk a tightrope, and are often ridiculed because of their looks. This is not the case for everyone. Linda Cohn of ESPN has been a trailblazer. Cohn has grown to be one of the most versatile personalities on the network since 1992 when she was hired.

Danica Patrick

Danica Patrick is an NASCAR racer who has won numerous awards. She has been awarded multiple championships, and she was the sport’s most popular driver many times. Danica is also an avid fitness enthusiast and philanthropist. Danica's sexy personality, fit body and devoted fan base have made her a favorite.

Although Patrick began her career as a kart driver, she quickly advanced to the sport of racing. In 2005, she became the youngest winner of the Indianapolis 500. She is also currently the only female driver to win IndyCar Series. She continues breaking female sports records.

Lindsey Vonn

Lindsey Vonn, a well-known skier who is also a world-class athlete, is well-known. She is the most decorated woman in the history and evolution of downhill skiing. She has won many world titles, including the downhill world championships, three world championships in a row, and the overall world cup championship. She is also a role model for women in sports.

Lindsey Vonn was brought up in Minnesota. She began skiing as a child. At age seven, she started competing in races and eventually made her way to international competitions. She competed in World Junior Championships and World Cup events, and became a World Cup champion in 2004. Vonn won the 2008 World Cup overall title and was crowned champion in 2010.

Michelle Kwan

Michelle Kwan's interest in figure skating began at a young age. At five years old, she began skating with her older sister. She fell in love with figure skating and continued to follow her. Danny and Estella Kwan, her parents, were immigrants from Hong Kong, China. The Kwans first met at a school reunion. Her father worked at the telephone company, while her mother managed the Golden Pheasant Restaurant in Torrance. Michelle started serious training at age eight. She would train for up to four hours each day. She was so dedicated to her practice that her family couldn't afford it.


Kwan appointed Rafael Arutyunyan, a well-known technician, to be her coach in fall 2003. The pair skated to "The Feeling Begins", for the short, and "Tosca," for long. Kwan tied Maribel Vinson Owen's record in U.S. women’s figure skating with nine titles at the U.S. Championships. Kwan was then eligible for the Olympic Games in Turin (Italy) where she competed with a new judging system. Kwan was unable to compete at the World Championships because she fell on a triple salchow.

Cari Champion

Cari Champion is a well-known broadcast journalist in the sports world. She hosts the podcast Be Honest with Cari Champion and anchors the noon edition ESPN's flagship program. She has worked in broadcast journalism for several networks and has a wide-ranging knowledge of sports. In fact, she will speak on the 2019 program track, Pushing the Limits of Human Performance.

Cari Champion is a Pasadena native who attended UCLA. She has one older sister and two younger brothers. She has not yet been married and is not currently involved in a public affair.

Li Na

Li Na is a very well-known Chinese tennis player. She rose from humble origins as the daughter of an athlete whose dreams were derailed by political strife. Today, she is a world-class tennis player and one the richest women in the world. Most of her Chinese counterparts had never witnessed her play before she rose to fame.

She has been praised for her self-confidence and for her ability to inspire young Chinese. But her work is not only limited to sports. Li Na is also an influential cultural entrepreneur that is making an impact on the Chinese society beyond just sport.
