The Courage won the league title and is now on the verge to make it long-distance playoff runs.
Trinity Rodman scores Thorns
Trinity Rodman, who has scored three goals in each of the Thorns' matches, is now a major point of attack for the team. Her contributions to the U.S. national team system have been extensive over the years. She helped her country win CONCACAF under-20 title last March. Rodman was the star on the night and created three chances. She was integral to the team's playmaking. She had nine tackles, an interception and nine recoveries on the defense.
Wave FC's Kailen Shiridan is a career penalty saver with seven
Kailen, Wave FC's goalkeeper, makes her seventh career penalty saving. Sheridan stopped three shots from San Diego and saved two more. The Wave lost 2-1 on Sunday to the Kansas City Current. Amirah Ali scored Wave’s goal in the 88th minutes. Makenzy Donatiak assisted Ali. Kansas City took the lead at the 27th minute thanks to a CeCe Kizer penalty kick.

Alyssa Mutz has resigned from the league
Alyssa Makutz announced on Tuesday that she was leaving the NWSL and said it was time to move forward. The Chicago Red Stars midfielder had played for the team since 2003 and announced her retirement prior to Wednesday's game. The league has been struggling with transfer activity lately and this move will fill that void. Alyssa Mautz was league's top scorer with 16 goals and 8 assists during her 10-year career.
