Revelations Cup
The U.S. Men's National Team's Revelations Cup Tournament will be held in Mexico by the USMNT on Wednesday. The tournament involves four U-20 teams from around the world and lasts 10 days. The tournament hopes to bring the best emerging players to fans and help change sports history.
Varas and his squad are coming off a poor showing in their opening game of the Revelations Cup against Brazil. Varas was only hired in December and the squad had a few training sessions before the competition. The squad didn't score any goals. Varas however stated that his team is ready for tough challenges and are determined to do better.
FIFA U-20 World Cup
The FIFA U-20 World Cup, a biennial football tournament open to male players aged under 20, is held every two years. FIFA organizes this tournament. It was first held by Tunisia in 1977. The tournament was previously called the FIFA World Youth Championship. It has become a worldwide phenomenon. Each team competes for a place in the tournament by qualifying at their youth championships. These are split into six groups. The tournament's first stage is decided by the top two teams in each group. The remaining four teams are eliminated.
Argentina is the winning team of the tournament with six victories. Their last title came in 2007, when they won the tournament in Canada. Brazil, England (Ukraine), and Russia are other notable nations.
Olympic qualifying tournament for players under 23
Each four years, the Olympic qualifying tournament has been held for players under 23. This tournament is open to players aged under 23 and is not part of the FIFA World Cup. Each country is allowed to have three wild cards above the age limit. The United States failed to qualify for the tournament in four of its last four years. It has been defeated by El Salvador, Canada, Mexico, and Mexico. However, the United States did not have to forfeit any of its under-23 players because they were already playing for the senior national team.
In addition to Brazil, Mexico, and Canada, the U-23 team will face a team from CONCACAF in the group stage on March 18. Costa Rica will face the U-23 team in their first group match on March 18. The next game in the group stage will be a knockout game between the top two teams. The winners of the group stage will advance to the knockout round, where they will play each other.
Team USA vs Honduras u20
The Hondurans are hoping to capitalise on their home advantage as they look to qualify for the Pre-World Cup. They had a great performance in the group stage, and they hope to repeat that success in CONCACAF U-20 qualifying rounds. The match will be played at the General Francisco Morazan Stadium also known as La Bombonerita.
Honduras defeated Panama 2-1 in the last game. Marco Tulio Aceituno scored a brace in Honduras' 2-1 win over Panama. But, the United States was dominant from start to end in that match. The Hondurans are determined to keep their winning streak alive and defeat their rivals.
