Perceptual memory

What is the nature perceptual memory in a person? Researchers have struggled to answer this question for years, but it may turn out that the answer is more simple than they think. This theory states that the human mind can recall any past experience by using a mental image to bring it back to memory. If you're asked to recall your birthday, you might picture a birthday cake with twenty candles and sit down with your siblings or parents at a table.

Personal memory

Personal memory is how a person retains information about a particular event. Malcolm says memory has two components. Perceptual memory is the factual memory. Perceptual memory is the ability to form a mental picture of an object in memory. Personal memory, on the other hand, is an abstract concept. There are individuals who have no perceptual memory but still have normal factual memories. In this essay, Malcolm explores the differences between the two types of memory.
